Ryan Reynolds has been attempting to plan this reunion for almost ten years. One speaks loudly, while the other is reserved. Even though they both swear a lot when fighting, they are unbreakable. After starring together in the widely panned 2009 movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Deadpool and Wolverine are back again and looking to create box office history. Deadpool and Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, will be released on July 26.

Disney has a significant stake in these two heroes. The sole release from Marvel Studios in 2024 is on track to become the highest-grossing R-rated film in movie history.

Since the release of the original Deadpool, Reynolds has been openly pleading for a Deadpool-Wolverine crossover. In the end, Jackman was unable to resist the pull of playing his beloved character again—and probably the big salary that came with it.

For a very long time, the actor told Variety, “I didn’t miss it.” And then, one day, while I was heading down to the beach, it really dawned on me. I wanted to do this, I knew. I genuinely pulled over, got out, and gave Ryan a call. Are you serious? he asked. I said, “I mean business.” I then ended the call.

Marvel Studios finally owns the rights to the X-Men

The X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man were among the most well-known characters from Marvel Comics that Marvel Studios did not possess the rights to when they introduced the MCU with Iron Man in 2008.
