The BJP-Congress battle in Rajasthan
“There is no general secretary (Organisation), no state in-charge, the state president is also an MP, and the CM is a first-time MLA,” a senior party leader noted. The feedback mechanism is also flawed. We also received inputs from the RSS earlier.
The BJP’s performance in the Shekhawati region, where it paid the price for Jat enmity, was the clearest illustration of its lack of empathy. The party made very few sincere attempts to appease the community.

While the high command may not have wanted Raje leading the organization, another leader questioned how she was marginalized, pointing out that she might have served as a mentor to newer leaders during the transition. Some within the party, however, applaud Bhajan Lal’s selection as chief minister, viewing it as evidence that the party values loyalty and hard work over
established names. “It is typical to see a regular person from even the most remote locations coming into the Chief Minister’s Office or residence to meet the CM. He typically remains behind at party events well after the program ends to mingle with party workers, all of whom he knows personally, according to a CM supporter.
The BJP-Congress battle in Rajasthan has a new front | After the Lok Sabha election results, the new-look BJP unit in Rajasthan feels the aftershocks.
The decision made during and after the elections is also thought to have contributed to Kirodi Lal Meena’s departure as minister; party officials are concerned about the party’s decline and the void left by Vasundhara Raje and other unfilled positions.
Senior BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena announced his resignation from the Rajasthan administration led by Bhajan Lal Sharma as Cabinet minister one month after the Lok Sabha results were declared.
Having declared in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections that he would step down if the BJP lost any of the seven seats in eastern Rajasthan that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given him, Kirodi Lal asserted that he was honoring his word. Four of those, Dausa, Tonk–Sawai Madhopur, Karauli–Dholpur, and Bharatpur, were ultimately lost by the BJP.
Kirodi Lal has been summoned to Delhi by BJP president J P Nadda, but his resignation has not yet been accepted. However, this has just served to reinforce the sense that his action is more complex than first appears.
Some people think Kirodi Lal is still upset that the BJP chose Kanhaiya Lal Meena, who lost, over his brother Jagmohan Meena for the Dausa Lok Sabha seat. At the time, the Congress had also entered the fray. According to former health minister Parsadi Lal, even his own party would have been content to field Jagmohan.
