Pakistan Women’s Team Overview ( Pakistan vs Nepal Women’s Asia Cup )
In international women’s cricket, Pakistan is represented by the women’s national cricket team, commonly referred to as the Green Shirts or Women in Green. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), is responsible for organizing the team, which is one of 10 teams participating in the ICC Women’s Championship, the pinnacle of international women’s cricket.
Pakistan participated in the 1997 World Cup in India after playing its first One Day International (ODI) match against New Zealand in the early months of 1997. In April 1998, the team played their first Test match against Sri Lanka. Pakistan was among the least competitive of the elite women’s teams in its early years, and it wasn’t until 2009—in Australia—that the team qualified for another World Cup following their debut in 1997. Nonetheless, the group has competed in the Women’s Asia Cup, the Asian Games cricket competition, and all eight of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cups to date.
In the latter part of the 2000s and the first part of the 2010s, foreign teams visiting Pakistan experienced a halt due to the rise in terrorism that followed the war on terror. However, since 2015, tours of Bangladesh (twice), the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and South Africa have taken place in Pakistan as a result of a decline in terrorism and an uptick in security. Nepal Women’s Team Overview ( Pakistan vs Nepal Women’s Asia Cup )
The national squad, which consists of elite athletes from different sports, performed admirably to make it to the 2007 ACC Women’s Tournament final. Women’s cricket is a growing sport. 2008 saw Nepal win the ACC Under-19 Women’s Championship, which it successfully defended in 2010.
Singapore needed two runs off the final over to win the 2009 ACC Women Twenty20 in Malaysia with five wickets remaining. Rubina Chhetry was handed the ‘hopeless’ over, but she performed a miracle, getting five wickets in five balls, despite throwing a wide, and the match ended in a tie. The game was won by Nepal via bowl-out. Rubina became the first cricket player from Nepal, male or female, to achieve a hat-trick with the unusual occurrence. Then captain Binod Das said, “I have never heard of any team winning the match taking five wickets in the last over, this is very, very rare.”
In women’s cricket, Nepal played their first T20I match against China on January 12, 2019, after the announcement on April 26, 2018, by the International Cricket Council (ICC) that all T20 matches played between ICC members would be accorded T20I classification starting on July 1, 2018.
The 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualification route was revealed by the ICC in December 2020.[9] Nepal was selected along with seven other teams for the regional group of the 2021 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.
Nepal advanced to the semifinals of the 2022 ACC Women’s T20 Championship before losing to the UAE on a lower net-run-rate as a result of a rain-out, rather than on the field.
For their first matchback since 2022, the Nepali women played a 5-match Twenty20 series against Malaysia in late May or early June 2023, emerging victorious 3-2. Due to alleged visa problems with Thailand, Nepal was declared to take Thailand’s spot at the 2023 ACC Women’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup later in June 2023.[11] Given that their first match was scheduled for the 13th of the month, the announcement was made on short notice—it was made on the 8th. In the end, their scheduled games against India A and Hong Kong were rained out, and they were only able to play one game against Pakistan A, which they lost 87-78.
