Elon Musk sends stern warning to Tesla short sellers: You’ll be ‘obliterated’

Bill Gates and any other Tesla short sellers who maintain a negative stance against the company have received a severe warning from Elon Musk, who says they would be “obliterated.”

For years, Musk has taken a strong stand against short sellers, even asserting that the practice violates the fundamentals of investing as it profits from a company’s failure.

Over the past few years, Tesla has drawn a lot of short interest from investors. Bears who think Tesla is headed for financial disaster have been arguing for years that the company is a scam that has been lying on financial spreadsheets for years, only to lose billions of dollars in total.
Years ago, many short sellers gave up on their positions, but many still do.

As Tesla works to solve autonomy through its Full Self-Driving suite and ramps up production of its Optimus humanoid robot, Musk believes that this is just the beginning of more suffering for the short sellers and that things will get very bad for those who continue to hold a position against the company:

When it unveils the Robotaxi to the public at a special event on August 8, Tesla intends to take the final steps toward addressing autonomy. People should be wary of Tesla, though, as the company has a history of announcing product schedules only to back out and cause delays.

Despite this, Tesla is still regarded as a pioneer in the field of semi-autonomous driving technology, and its neural network has amassed a sizable mileage for both Autopilot and Full Self-Driving, which helps both suites function better with each mile traveled.

Due to its impressive quarterly delivery numbers, Tesla’s shares have increased by more than 9% today. In the last month, the stock has increased by almost thirty percent. The stock of Tesla has increased by more than 1,300 percent in the last five years.
