All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja declared his retirement from T20I cricket

A day after India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja declared his retirement from T20I cricket. Jadeja retired after Virat Kohli and India skipper Rohit Sharma.

Following in the footsteps of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from Twenty20 international cricket, leaving with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy in hand.

I said adieu to T20 internationals with a heart full of appreciation. Jadeja wrote on Instagram, “Like a steady horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats.”

“Being the winner of the T20 World Cup was the high point of my T20 International career and a dream come true. I appreciate all of the laughs, memories, and steadfast support you have given me.”

A day after India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja declared his retirement from T20I. At the Kensington Oval in Barbados, India defeated South Africa by 7 runs to win their second T20 World Cup crown. Following his captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Virat Kohli into retirement, the Indian team has changed leadership following their ICC title victory.

Despite his lackluster performance in this competition, Jadeja led the Indian side in all three of the global cricket’s major formats throughout the previous ten years. At the age of almost 36, Jadeja, regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in history, announces his retirement from T20I cricket.
I said adieu to T20 internationals with a heart full of appreciation. I have always given my all for my nation and I will continue to do so in many capacities, much like a proud and unwavering horse. Achieving the T20 World Cup was the apex of my T20 International career and a great dream come true. On Sunday, June 30, Jadeja posted on Instagram, saying, “Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support.”
